Zeitgeist

Poetry is a form of art in which writers put their soul on the page. Complex structures and convoluted meanings can mystify poetry, but this game intends to unravel its true simplicity. You see, poetry, at its base, is about a time, and a place.

That may have been England in the 1500’s, or in Iran during the 1200’s, or anytime and anyplace in between, before or after. Wherever the setting, poetry bloomed out of one ethereal concept. The Zeitgeist. The mess of interwoven ideas that contextualize a period of time. Shakespeare and Rumi didn’t solely forge the ideas they ponder. No, they pulled them from the Zeitgeist, and you can too.
